Preparing for the impact of inflation

It has been quite some time since inflation has been a problem in any developed economy. In fact it could be argued that most financial professionals and central bankers have not experienced the real impact that inflation has on an economy. There is a heightened level of risk, over the next 6 to 12 months, of the unique circumstances of the pandemic leading to an inflationary breakout. Although this may not eventuate, it is important to understand the potential drivers of above average inflation and the implications for both investing across the financial asset classes and the impacts at a specific company level.
