Build an Innovative Team Through Team Psychological Safety

Being safe is a fundamental need for every individual and this includes our workplaces and teams. According to Harvard Business School Prof Amy Edmondson, “Psychological safety is a belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes.”

When a team has a high level of psychological safety, the team members are safe to post questions, contribute their ideas, share their concerns, work challenges and learn from the mistakes. This enables the team to be creative, innovative and collaborative especially when overcoming the challenges face by the organisation and the teams during the times of crisis.

In this session, you will learn how to build a high performing team by cultivating psychological safety within our teams so that they can be productive, performing and innovative?

1. What is and what is not Team Psychological Safety
2. Importance of Team Psychological Safety for team effectiveness and team performance
3. Identify the actionable steps to foster Team Psychological Safety for our work teams
4. Identify and understand your individual level of Psychological Safety Index (PSI) in your respective team

At the of the session, you will receive a Psychological Safety Index (PSI), a measuring tool by Amy Edmondson to help measure your personal level of psychological safety in your organisation.

About the speaker:

Jasmine Liew Team Psychological Safety Practitioner

Jasmine has been a Human Resource Leader for the past 20 years and her span of wide HR experience encompasses the Singapore Civil Service- Multi National Companies and the Private Sector.  She is currently the Founder and Principal Organisation Development Consultant of Breakthrough Catalyst LLP.

Jasmine specialises in Organisation Development, Change Management, The 5 Languages of Appreciation at Work, Leadership Development, Team Psychological Safety for High Performing Teams, and Workplace Performance Coaching.

Jasmine is one of the two Asians that have been certified and licensed by Prof Amy Edmondson’s The Fearless Organisation LLC, to conduct the Fearless Organisation Scan (Team’s Psychological Safety Index). She is the only Asia Psychological S.A.F.E.T.Y.™ Facilitator by Academy of Brain-Based Leadership based on Neuroscience Research.

Jasmine has designed and conducted training programs for more than 10,000 Asia Pacific regional participants including C-Suite, Department Heads, Middle Management and Executives. Her methodological approach is to contextualise and customise the content into real life and practical applications for the organisations and the participants.  She is sought after for her expertise and had been interviewed by Radio 938 and also, published articles in The Straits Times, The New Paper and The Business Time.
